The ICT App Suite

A growing set of free, browser-based apps for everyday ICT lessons — the tools you would normally have to install on every computer, ready to run online instead. No installs, no logins, no camera, and they work on any device.

Every app opens straight from here, and each has a Copy link button so you can send it to a class. New apps are being added all the time.

Get started with mouse, keyboard & creating

The building blocks — and the creative tools that replace desktop software.

🐀

Mouse & Keyboard Skills Start here

Quick Year 1 warm-ups for children new to computers — pointing, clicking, dragging and dropping, and finding keys — before the units begin.

⌨️

Typing Quest App

Learn proper touch typing the fun way — from the home keys f & j to full sentences, with a Flow Meter that stops hunt-and-peck. No login, no camera.

🎬

Motion Studio App

Make your own stop-motion animation, frame by frame — a huge library of poseable characters whose arms and legs bend at the joints, plus drawing tools, reshapeable shapes, onion-skin ghosting, background music and video export.

🎨

Paint New

A friendly free paint program that rivals the desktop ones — pencil, brush, spray, fill bucket, shapes, text, 400+ stamps and a clone tool, with a full-screen canvas, undo/redo, layers, magic effects, artist styles, a picture gallery, PNG/JPG export and printing. Simple for Year 1, powerful for older students.

🎬

Movie Maker New

A free video & audio editor for the classroom — record or import clips, cut and trim on a timeline, build stop-motion from photos, add music, voiceover and titles, clean up noisy sound, add transitions and effects, then export a real video. Nothing is uploaded. Year 3 stop-motion, Year 4 audio, Year 5 video.

🎵

Music Maker New

A free music & composition studio that beats Chrome Music Lab — make a tune on the grid or a full piano-roll with multiple instrument tracks, real sampled instruments, drums, reverb and echo. Turn on key lock so every note sounds right and the chord helper for instant backing — compose by ear with no training. Export WAV audio, MIDI and printable sheet music. Nothing uploaded.

Programming, networks & data

The showcase tools children use to really understand how computers work.

🐇💻

Code Quest App

Program Milo through mazes with blocks — loops, conditionals, functions and debugging — then unlock the White Hat Academy to learn what ethical hacking really is. KS2.

📩

Packet Post Office App

Design a network of offices and roads, then send a message chopped into packets that each find their own way — through storms, congestion and out-of-order arrival. A brilliant group activity.

🎮

Game Studio App

Draw pixel sprites, code them with blocks (with a live Python view), then play and publish real games with score, sound and touch controls. The perfect sandbox after Code Quest.

🔮

The Guessing Machine App

Build a collection with fields and records, explore it with filters and charts, then challenge a machine that can only ask about fields to guess your record — a hands-on way into databases.

🌐

Web Studio New

Build a real web page and see the HTML & CSS behind it — a modern FrontPage / Dreamweaver for the classroom. Drag in headings, pictures, buttons and columns, switch to the split code view to watch the code change as you edit, style it with plain-language controls, build a multi-page site and export a file that works anywhere. Nothing uploaded.

💻

Code Editor New

A kids’ VS Code — write real JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Python, press Run and see it work, with a live preview and a friendly console that explains errors in plain English. File explorer, tabs, autocomplete and snippets; save and export your project. Beginner mode for first steps. Nothing uploaded.

📈

Data Logger New

Turn a Chromebook or tablet into a set of sensors — no hardware probes needed. Use the microphone as a sound sensor, the camera as a light sensor and device motion as a movement sensor, or type readings in by hand. Record over time on a live graph, read the table, add markers, set an alarm line and export CSV or a graph image. Great for Science data logging and the Computing data strand. Nothing uploaded.

💻

How Computers Work New

Go inside the machine, from a single switch to a thinking computer. Six hands-on rooms: flip bits, build binary numbers and add them, see how text, pictures and sound become numbers, wire up logic gates into a real adder, run a tiny program on a visual CPU (fetch–decode–execute), and watch data flow through the whole computer. Built for KS3 Computing, with KS2 stretch. Nothing uploaded.
