Question 1

Is Mousecalls Music Maker free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It is completely free with no login and no download. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded, so classroom work stays private.

Question 2

Do I need to read music to use it?

Accepted Answer

No. In simple mode you make a tune by clicking squares on a grid and pressing play, so you can compose by ear with no musical training.

Question 3

Is it a Chrome Music Lab alternative?

Accepted Answer

Yes. It starts like a simple grid but switches to an advanced piano-roll with several instrument tracks, variable note lengths and longer multi-bar songs, so it grows with the composer.
